Mission Statement
First and foremost, the marching band staff is committed to providing a high quality of music education to all performing members of the organization. The mission of the
directors and support staff is to provide an atmosphere to the continued excellence of the
Norton Band program.
The Norton High School Marching Band
The Norton Marching Band appears to be one of the most successful and vibrant organizations at Norton High School. For the past 19
years, it has maintained an enrollment of 120+ members. The
band annually participates in at least two or more
Ohio Music Education
Association [OMEA] Marching Band Adjudicated Events, one of those contests being Norton's own "Art-In-Motion" Marching Band Invitational. Norton is also a member of and participates in the
Bands of America [BOA] Regional Championships and Grand National Championships annually. Finally, the band marches in at least two local parades.
The Norton Marching Band holds onto a rich tradition of earning high ratings at all contests entered. On average, the band earns nothing less than an excellent rating, often times succeeding to superior ratings. The
band has qualified and performed in the OMEA State Finals Marching Band Contest for the past
15 years. Awards such as the Mayor's Award and Best Unit Overall are just a few honors received at local parades.
